Low Testosterone Symptoms

Research suggests that men with low testosterone face a high risk of serious illnesses, such as heart disease, diabetes, and osteoporosis. Naturally produced in the testicles, the hormone stimulates sperm production and sex drive. However, the production of testosterone decreases with age. With the drastic drop in production of testosterone, a range of complications can occur.

Other causes of low testosterone or low T may include obesity, infections, diabetes, chronic kidney or heart disease, or certain hormonal changes in the body. The hormone influences bone density, fat distribution, and red blood cell production in men.

Testosterone peaks in the beginning of adulthood and the hormone levels start dropping once you reach 30 years of age. The initial symptoms may be confused as being part of the natural aging process.

Testosterone therapy can protect men with low T against serious medical problems, such as osteoporosis, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Low T is diagnosed when testosterone levels are as low as 300 nanograms per deciliter. If the decline in testosterone is greater than it should, a man may experience a range of symptoms.

The onset of low testosterone symptoms can have an adverse effect on his emotional and physical health.  It’s important to talk to your doctor if you have any of the aforementioned symptoms. Fortunately, there are many treatments to restore your hormone levels and improve your sexual response.
